Shilpi Chauhan Chakraborty

Shilpi Chauhan Chakraborty is an independent Visual Communication Designer with over eighteen years of experience. Her expertise spans across logo design, branding, editorial and book design, print collaterals, environmental graphics, and illustration.

Currently a design mentor at NSHM Design School, Kolkata, Shilpi has also shared her insights as a guest speaker at prestigious institutions and events including NIFT Kolkata, Visva Bharati University Shantiniketan, SNU Fine Arts & Design, and Kolkata Design Fest, Design Days 2023 organised by Salesforce and IxDF Kolkata. She has served on academic panels such as the Semester Jury at Amity Kolkata (2025), NID Bhopal (2024) and the Graduation Project Jury at NIFT Kolkata (2021).

Professionally, her journey includes roles such as Consultant Creative Director at Exhibit Magazine, Kolkata, and Graphic Designer at Lopez Design, New Delhi. Alongside these, she has built a strong independent practice, collaborating with clients across India, the USA, and Australia.

Her diverse clientele includes names like Sensitile (USA), Resiliency Program (USA), Arctrix Developments (Australia), The Indian Chamber of Commerce, Ambuja Neotia, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Apeejay Surrendra Group, Calcutta International School, Fanatic Sports (Mumbai, Dubai, Kolkata), Oxford Bookstores, Infosoft Global, and YPO South Asia.

Born and raised in Lucknow, the City of Nawabs, Shilpi earned her Master’s in Graphic Design from the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, in 2007. She now calls the City of Joy, Kolkata, her home.
